Director of External Relations

The Centre for the Moving Image (CMI) incorporates Scotland’s leading independent cinema, Filmhouse, the world’s longest continually running film festival, the Edinburgh International Film Festival, the Filmhouse Café Bar, and the Belmont Filmhouse in Aberdeen.
We are currently recruiting for the new role of Director of External Relations to be responsible for the communications, press, marketing and development functions of the CMI, based in our Edinburgh office.  The overall purpose of the role is to maximise the income and revenue generation for, and profile of, the CMI, and to nurture and develop the reputation of the CMI with all of its stakeholders.
This is a new wide-ranging role and as well as having substantial experience in a development, marketing or communications role, you will be able to demonstrate significant experience in managing a complex matrix of stakeholders and relationships, including funders, donors, sponsors, press, and audiences. Ideally, you will have significant experience in raising funds and generating income supporting the delivery of cultural objectives.

Development Manager

The Centre for the Moving Image (CMI) incorporates Scotland’s leading independent cinema, Filmhouse, the world’s longest continually running film festival, the Edinburgh International Film Festival, the Filmhouse Café Bar, and the Belmont Filmhouse in Aberdeen.
We are currently recruiting for a Development Manager, based in our Edinburgh office on Lothian Road.  The Development Manager will be responsible for initiating, developing and managing relationships with existing and potential donors, funders and sponsors, promoting the work of the CMI and seeking support for its programmes, projects and activities.

The right candidate will have demonstrable experience of managing a complex matrix of stakeholders and relationships, of negotiating and influencing a range of partners, including public funders, individual donors and sponsors, and of raising funds or generating income, supporting the delivery of cultural objectives.  You will also have excellent communication and organisation skills; along with great attention to detail.

Education & Learning Coordinator

CMI (Edinburgh International Film Festival and Edinburgh Filmhouse) is looking for someone who is passionate about moving image education, has strong admin skills and is a great multi-tasker. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Coordinator to support the work of the Education & Learning department.

Reporting to the CMI’s Head of Education and Learning, this post is responsible for coordinating the development and delivery of the education and learning programme at Filmhouse and EIFF, which aims to inspire and educate people of all ages, increasing the number of people engaging with the Filmhouse and EIFF. The successful candidate will primarily support development of our schools programme and youth engagement initiatives.

Café Bar Chef

Filmhouse are looking for a Café Bar Chef to assume day to day responsibility of the food preparation as instructed, in conjunction with the kitchen supervisor and other kitchen staff. This role involves carrying out all the duties required by the management, as directed by the kitchen supervisors in any area you are assigned by your duty rota. It requires the maintainance of high standards of food production, presentation and hygiene in the Filmhouse Café Bar. This position may include being a building key holder and is subject to satisfactory references being obtained.
