EXHIBITION & TOUR
Arts by Offenders: The Co-operative Koestler Exhibition for Scotland

6 August - 4 September, Filmhouse Café Bar
Arts by Offenders is an exhibition of artwork produced by offenders, patients in secure hospitals and immigration centre detainees in Scotland. This evocative and thought-provoking range of paintings, drawings, sculptures and examples of creative writing, was selected from entries to the 2009 Koestler Awards – a charitable scheme which has been rewarding artistic achievement in the penal and secure sectors for over 45 years. The exhibition has been funded by The Co-operative as part of its wide ranging community activity in Scotland.

As part of the award selection process, visitors are invited to vote for their favourite piece of artwork throughout the first three weeks of the exhibition, with the top three works receiving the Audience Choice Award.

During the exhibition the Koestler Trust will conduct free exhibition tours. Meet in the Filmhouse Café Bar at 10.30am on Fri 14, Sat 22, Tue 25 or Sat 29 August, no booking required.
