Filmhouse Marks an Anniversary
Tue 21 Aug 2012
Today we celebrate 34 years since the first EVER screening at Filmhouse. As part of the 32nd EIFF on 21st August 1978 Filmhouse screened Christopher Mason's Wot! No Art. Followed the next day by Peter Greenaway's new short film A Walk Through H: The Reincarnation Of An Ornithologist, a short Sudanese documentary called Dislocation Of Amber, and Pudovkin's 1928 Storm Over Asia. Filmhouse also hosted the Festival's last-day screening of Eraserhead on 2nd September, before taking a month-long break prior to opening for the first regular Filmhouse screening on 9th October 1978: Fassbinder's The Bitter Tears Of Petra Von Kant. We've changed a bit over the years but we're still showing the best the film world has to offer.
