In this splendid comedy from director Philippe Le Guay, stockbroker Jean-Louis Joubert (the always marvellous Fabrice Luchini) lives a peaceful yet boring bourgeois existence with his socialite wife in 1960s Paris. But when a flock of exuberant Spanish maids moves into the sixth floor servants quarters, Jean-Louis’ world is turned upside down, particularly by beautiful Maria, whose irrepressible passion for life threatens to shake Jean-Louis from his staid foundation.

Women on the 6th Floor is beautifully filmed, well acted and a topical reminder that success isn’t about how much money you have, but how you live – and boil your eggs. (Birmingham post by Graham Young)
