At the forefront of our mind with every step of our re-opening plan has been the wellbeing of the Filmhouse family. We want to make sure we have done all we can to look after our people and our customers. Our aim is to make your visit feel as natural as possible. It is really important to us that you feel at home and that we look after your safety during your visit to Filmhouse.

Here are the key things that we want you to know when you are deciding whether to visit;

Our Café Bar will be a one metre social distancing zone. This doesn’t mean that we are packing people in - in fact, we will have less than half the number of seats that we normally would. It means that because we have a 200 year old building we have lots of nooks and crannies that make 2m social distancing impossible, we are putting in place all the mitigation that we can.

Many of our staff members have not yet had their vaccinations. Please be considerate of this and continue social distancing when you move around the building.

Our first priority is looking after our staff and wearing a face covering is a condition of entering our building. We will also ask you to wear a face covering if you are on your feet or moving around, but while seated at your table you can take it off. You will order at your table and your order will be delivered to you so you shouldn’t have to wear it for long. Our staff will also wear face coverings and have been trained on how to safely use them.

We will have disposable menus if you would like one but you can order and pay for everything on our online ordering service from your mobile phone. To keep everything as easy as possible, we will only take cashless payments.

We will have plenty of hand sanitiser around the Café Bar and we ask you to thoroughly clean your hands when you arrive and when you leave the Café Bar space. Your table will have been freshly cleaned before you sit down.

You will have a reservation for a table and we ask that you don’t arrive early. One of our team will meet you at the door, check you in, and show you to the Café Bar. We have a one-way system in place, which limits the likelihood of bumping into another customer. However, again, please wear a face mask when standing to help to keep you safe.

In the Café Bar space we won’t recirculate air, so the air that you breathe is fresh air from outside the building.

If you need any assistance at all during your visit then please let us know in the Requests section when you make a reservation so that we can ensure we are ready for your arrival.

You can also order takeaway online to collect from Filmhouse Café Bar. From excellent coffee and delicious cakes to our famous nachos, make Filmhouse Café Bar your local pit-stop for takeaway.

We strongly advise booking a table in advance to ensure yourself a seat. Although we will accept walk-ins when there is space available, it is preferable to book beforehand as our capacity is greatly reduced to ensure social distancing. You can book a table online for our Café Bar. The max table size is 4 people and each table should only have visitors from a maximum of three households.
