At every step of our re-opening plan the safety and well-being of the Filmhouse family has been at the core of our thinking. We have made sure we have done all we can to look after our people and our customers and that means there have been a few changes made at Filmhouse.
COVID-19 Safety Measures
As of 18 April, you are no longer required to wear a mask but we would encourage you to do so to protect staff and others around you.
Booking is recommended for the Cafe Bar, however we can usually accommodate walk ups. We have reintroduced ordering at the bar, and we are accepting groups of more than 3 households. We will also continue to take your contact details if you are seated in the Cafe Bar. To keep everything as easy as possible, we only take cashless payments.
From 18th March the following changes are being put in to place:
Socially distanced screenings
We know that some people feel more comfortable in quieter screenings, therefore all day time screenings (pre 5pm) will be capped at 50% capacity
Full capacity screenings
All evening (after 5pm) screenings are returning to full capacity
Masks
As of 18th April, you are no longer required to wear a mask but we would encourage you to do so to protect staff and others around you
We continue to approach all our decisions with the wellbeing of our staff, Cafe Bar customers and cinema audiences front of mind and we really appreciate your continued support of our safety measures.
To stay up to date with the current restrictions and guidance for your area in line with the Scottish Government framework, please refer to the Coronavirus postcode checker. Check the travel guidance to find out what travel restrictions currently apply.
-
We would encourage you to take a lateral flow test at home, prior to attending any events at Filmhouse. Please only continue your plans to attend if your test returns a negative result.
-
Where possible we request that you book online and use contactless card payment to minimise interaction with Filmhouse staff. We also recommend, due to reduced capacity, that you book in advance to avoid disappointment. Don’t hesitate to call us on 0131 228 2688 if you’re having any issues.
-
On arrival at the cinema our staff will show our one way system and sanitiser stations, and you’ll notice clear marking and signage throughout our building.
-
Our staff will continue to regularly clean all surfaces throughout the day.
-
All our staff will be knowledgeable about the most up to date Government legislation around Covid-19 and cinemas, and of our own risk assessment, and will be happy to advise if you have any questions.
We hope you’ll find that we have applied the most rigorous attention to safety legislation, and that this allows you to feel relaxed and comfortable – and welcome back!
