A young ballet dancer lives in the constricting, conservative confines of modern Tsilisi in Georgia. Merab is intensely dedicated to his craft, working to meld his soft physique and unpolished form into the masculine strength desired by the National Georgian Ensemble, when the startling arrival of another male dancer throws him off balance. New passions arise, tensions simmer and rivalries are sparked, as the rebellious Irakli makes his own moves in and outside of the classroom. This sensual drama from director Levan Akin illustrates the suffering of a young, queer man facing a crisis of identity, confidence and sexuality in an arena that gives little time to moments of weakness.
