Delphine and Carole

Part of the French Film Festival Season

Well known outside France for her roles in film classics, the late Delphine Seyrig was one of the great female talents to emerge at the birth of the Nouvelle Vague. Not so well known was Seyrig’s involvement with the French feminist movement, for which she became one of its leading celebrity mouthpieces during the latter part of her career. The film retraces the encounter between actress Delphine Seyrig and director Carole Roussopoulos in 1974 - their creative and disruptive use of video, their radical actions and incisive humour with fascinating detail.
