Alejandro Jodorowsky, Horácio Salinas, Zamira Saunders, Juan Ferrara, Adriana Page
Part of the Alejandro Jodorowsky Season
Alejandro Jodorowsky's follow-up to El Topo manages to out-do that movie on just about every front. The Holy Mountain is without doubt one of the weirdest movies ever made. Bizarre imagery fills every frame – from costumed frogs and lizards re-enacting the conquest of Mexico to processions of flayed lambs – and marks this out as an otherworldly vision of pure psychedelic intensity. This represents the pinnacle of Jodorowsky's filmmaking achievements and is a movie that will leave people variously bewildered, amazed, angered, fascinated and totally stunned. Welcome to the crazy place.
