Screening together as part of our new season celebrating centenary cinema, we travel back to 1921 for these two comedy shorts! In The Kid, Chaplin's first feature-length production, a tramp finds a baby, abandoned by its unwed mother, and brings the child up. Chaplin draws on his childhood memories of growing up in poverty, and the result is a wonderfully effective blend of pathos and humour. In The Goat police embark on a frantic chase to nab a drifter, played by Buster Keaton - his face is on the Wanted poster, but are they even chasing the right guy?
