Part of the IberoDocs 2020 Season
After the success of ‘Jonas and the Backyard Circus’ at IberoDocs 2018, producer Paula Gomes comes back with a fiction feature that openly flirts with reality. João is a lonely 13 year-old boy living in the outback. With no friends, no mother, and no bond with his father, he is scorned as ‘Son of Ox’ and desperately wants to escape. One day a small circus arrives in town and the leader Shaggy announces João as the new clown. Will he find a chance to overcome his fears and a possibility to fit in?
Introduced by Lusofonias – Oficinas de Português, and followed by a discussion.
