The Edinburgh Iranian Festival is delighted to return to the Filmhouse, presenting a season of contemporary Iranian films!

These award-winning films include four UK premieres and cover a diverse range of themes and genres, from Iranian psychological horror in Zalava to the bending of time and space in Thoughtless Crime. The encounter of science and mystery in TiTi to the myths and challenges of migration in Placement or Displacement are also examined. The clash of tradition and modernity is retold in the highly acclaimed documentary, Radiograph of a Family and the challenges of being trans in Iran in Facing Mirrors. The two latter films are discussed in the video essay Making Space directed by the festival’s curator, Professor Nacim Pak-Shiraz.

All titles will be introduced by the festival’s curator Nacim Pak-Shiraz.
