Filmhouse Recommends is our daily pick of three films from the 2015 Edinburgh International Film Festival that we think our audiences will particularly enjoy. Check back each day during the Festival for tomorrow's recommendations!

The Violators (18:00, Cineworld)

Acclaimed author Helen Walsh (Brass, The Lemon Grove) makes her filmmaking debut as writer and director in this engrossing tale of two young outcasts from different sides of the tracks. As Shelly and Rachel become inextricably entwined, threats from all sides lead them closer to violence in order to protect what they love. A stunning film, crafted around the pitch-perfect performances from the entire cast.

All of Me (20:45, Filmhouse 2)

A powerful and emotional documentary about the Mexican women who, for twenty years, have voluntarily given everything they have to spend their lives giving parcels of food to the migrants who pass through their village on an infamous train dubbed 'The Beast'. The individual stories of these women - known as 'the bosses' - weave through this fascinating look at a collective tapestry of passionate generosity.

Salem's Lot (23:00, Filmhouse 1)

Don't open the window! Following on from Brian de Palma's Carrie, director Tobe Hooper's Salem's Lot was only the second film adaptation of the work of then up-and-coming author Stephen King, and the first made for television. This cinematic version of the original two-part miniseries follows the invasion of a small town in the American North East by a group of very hungry vampires. A film well-known for giving an entire generation of children nightmares.
